Pronomi / pronouns

Possessive pronouns

English has different forms for possessive adjectives (my, your, her...) and pronouns (mine, yours, hers...). It. uses the same forms. Examples:
"Il mio libro e il tuo. Il tuo quaderno e il mio." ( My book and yours. Your copybook and mine)
"Ecco i vostri biglietti... sì, questi biglietti sono i vostri." ( Here are your tickets... yes, these tickets are yours).

Demonstrative pronouns

It. uses the same forms as the adjectives. Eng. uses "one(s)" in some cases. Examples:
"La salute di Giorgio? Di questo non so niente" ( Giorgio's health? I know nothing about this)
"La mia casa è quella" ( My house is that one).

Notice a special use of the demonstrative pronoun followed by an adjective or a clause. Examples:

"La mia bicicletta è quella gialla" ( My bicycle is the yellow one).
"Questa borsa è quella che ho comperato ieri" ( This bag is the one I bought yesterday)
"Che vestito ti metti?" "Quello nero" ( Which dress are you going to wear? The black one).
