This letter is called “kappa” and is used in “kilo” (meaning 1,000 grams), its derivatives “kilometro, kilogrammo, kilobyte, kiloHertz, kilowatt", etc. and their abbreviations “km, kg, kB, kH, kW”.

It is regularly pronounced [k] also in loanwords like “kermesse, okay, Kent”. One word with double "k" is "trekking"; here and in words like "shocking" we frequently hear the long variant of the consonant, [kk / k:].
